President Trump announced two measures the same day that put money and jobs into American communities.

At a rally in Fort Myers, Florida, he said the administration is investing $250 million to hire at least 5,000 new nurses in elder-care facilities across the country, with particular attention to Florida.

The figure matches a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services program launched the same day. It is expected to support more than 4,000 nurses and nursing students. Participants can receive up to $40,000 in student-loan repayment and a $10,000 stipend in exchange for a three-year commitment to work in a qualifying nursing home in a rural area or a place with a high labor shortage. All 50 states and the District of Columbia are participating. Every rural nursing facility is eligible.

In a separate Truth Social post, Trump credited Kansas Senator Roger Marshall and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for helping secure a $270 million investment by Canadian business-jet maker Bombardier.

The announcement followed Trump’s earlier statements about restricting Bombardier sales, which he later adjusted after learning of the company’s roughly 1,500 employees at its U.S. headquarters in Wichita. Kansas Republicans, including Marshall, had pressed the White House to protect those jobs.
