During her asylum process, a Chinese lawyer told her she needed to join an anti-Trump organization in order to obtain a work permit. She refused and left that lawyer. Later, for her marriage-based green card, she hired a local Indian lawyer, which proved worse than having no lawyer at all. People around her who married at roughly the same time received their green cards within three to six months of filing, while she has waited more than two years without an interview.
Wang Jing stated: “I don’t think I can always be this unlucky; there must be some human intervention involved.”
Her experience directly illustrates Musk’s point: when immigration systems are influenced by political loyalty, those who refuse to align with the dominant side can become targets of delay and obstruction.
