Vance put the last 40 years of bipartisan consensus in one line: it did not matter if American factories and jobs went overseas. President Trump changed that: if you undercut American wages and ship factories out, you pay a heavy tariff to bring the goods back. Vance said tariffs have done two things: they raised federal revenue; more important, they brought what he called about $20 trillion in new investment. He stressed the dividend is not about Iran. It is so Americans can take part in the wealth.

President Trump set the order: keep the plants and the jobs here; tariff those who leave; give the proceeds to American citizens. This is not just a check for votes. For 40 years the lines went out, Americans lost work, cheap imports came in, and government taxed citizens to fill the hole. The sequence is now reversed: whoever hollows out America pays first; the money goes first to citizens who paid taxes and kept the law.
