At 3:59 a.m. PDT on October 2, DogeDesigner posted on X that President Trump is a Grok user. The post cited TIME: in a private Oval Office meeting with Elon Musk in December 2025, President Trump spent hours asking Grok about his presidency and his legacy. He also asked how Venezuelans would react if the United States captured Nicolás Maduro. Grok reportedly said many would celebrate his fall. Maduro was captured the next month, and people did celebrate in the streets.

That December meeting is TIME’s account, not a White House transcript from that day. TechCrunch on October 1 headlined the same story as Grok reportedly encouraging the capture. Asking how people would react is not the same as ordering the capture. The decision was the president’s.
