At 3:57 p.m. PDT on September 30, Gunther Eagleman posted on X with a clip of about nine seconds. He wrote that Elon Musk is warning the AI race could reshape the world: enormous productivity on one side, and a contest between the United States and China over AI, chips and computing power on the other, with Taiwan in the middle.

The face in the clip is synthetic. It is a made image standing in for the risk, not a recording of Musk that day. That does not change the fact the post is telling people.

Musk has said the fact himself. At the All-In Summit in September he said existing fabs are already at full capacity. To scale AI, the choice is build Terafab or fail to scale. He also said chips may at some point stop coming from Taiwan, which is why he wants a supply of his own. In another interview he said the race is mainly with China: whoever controls the factories that make the AI chips will lead. If China took Taiwan, the supply of advanced chips would be cut.
