Starting around 11 a.m. KST on October 20, nearly all major North Korean websites using the .kp domain went offline. These included the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Rodong Sinmun, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Air Koryo, and more than 40 others. The outage lasted about 32 hours before most sites recovered. Analysts pointed to possible network issues or a DDoS attack. No official North Korean explanation was given.
美西时间10月20日起，朝鲜几乎所有使用.kp域名的主要网站开始下线，包括朝中社、《劳动新闻》、外务省、高丽航空等超过40个站点。中断持续约32小时后，多数网站陆续恢复。分析指向可能是网络故障或DDoS攻击。朝鲜官方没有给出解释。
The timing coincided with unfounded rumors that Kim Jong Un had died. The claims came from posts by Wanjun Xie (谢万军), a US-based Chinese dissident who calls himself chairman of the China Democracy Party. He alleged without evidence that Kim suffered a severe brain hemorrhage, fell into a coma, was taken to a Beijing hospital, and died. Similar false claims from him have circulated before.
这一时间点恰好与金正恩已死的无根据传闻重合。传闻来自在美国的中国异议人士谢万军（Wanjun Xie）的帖子，他自称中国民主党主席。他声称金正恩突发严重脑出血、陷入昏迷、被送往北京医院并死亡，但没有任何证据。他此前也传过类似假消息。
North Korean state media pushed back. KCNA and Rodong Sinmun released photographs dated October 19 showing Kim Jong Un touring a clothing and footwear exhibition in Pyongyang with his daughter Kim Ju Ae and wife Ri Sol Ju. South Korean officials, BBC, and other outlets confirmed the rumors had no supporting evidence. Similar “Kim is dead” claims have appeared multiple times in past years and proved false.
朝鲜官方媒体随即回应。朝中社和《劳动新闻》发布了日期为10月19日的照片，显示金正恩与女儿金主爱、妻子李雪主一同参观平壤服装鞋类展览。韩国官员、BBC及其他媒体确认这些传闻没有证据支持。类似“金正恩已死”的说法过去多年多次出现，事后均被证明是假的。

Communist regimes run on secrecy. When official sites go dark and unproven rumors spread at the same time, the outside world has little choice but to watch and wait for verifiable facts. The photographs are the available evidence. The death claim is not.
共产主义政权靠秘密运转。当官方网站突然下线、未经证实的传闻同时扩散时，外界只能继续观察，等待可核实的事实。照片是目前可见的证据。死亡说法不是。
