美西时间9月9日，川普总统在马里兰安德鲁斯联合基地机坪、登机赴达拉斯共和党中期大会前对记者说：仗会在中期选举一结束就停。伊朗撑不住了。他们拼命想影响选举，好让一批软的人上台，放过他们，让他们拿到核武器。他们要的就是核弹。真拿到了，全世界都麻烦。
On September 9, before boarding Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews for the Republican midterm convention in Dallas, President Trump told reporters: the war will end immediately after the election. Iran cannot hold out. They are desperate to affect the vote so a weak group takes office, leaves them alone, and lets them have a nuclear weapon. That is all they want. If they get it, the whole world is in deep trouble.

他说现在不急着谈。伊朗已经很弱，还不断越线。汽油价要明显下来，也可能得过了中期——仗一停，油价才会掉。路透、CNN同一天引述同一段：战争进入第七个月；霍尔木兹附近再交火，布伦特一度破100美元。
He said he is not eager for a deal. Iran is weakened and keeps stepping out of line. Gasoline, he added, may take a little longer than the midterms — prices fall when the war ends. Reuters and CNN carried the same remarks the same day: the war is in its seventh month; fighting near Hormuz again pushed Brent through $100.

The president laid out the other side’s bet: Tehran is not waiting on weather. It is waiting on November 3. The wager is a weaker Washington that will stand down and leave the bomb. So pressure stays on, talks wait. After the vote, that card is gone. The war, he said, then ends. On the tarmac he named the end date. On the stairs he went to lock in the votes. Same trip. Same point.

Tianwang’s view: Iran has not fully yielded because it is watching the American ballot. The president saw it and put the calendar in public: the midterms are not only seats. They are when the war stops, when fuel comes down, and whether a nuclear weapon is allowed through. The side that waits wants weak hands. If voters keep the hard line in office, waiting becomes surrender. He says what he means. Win the election first.
