Trump: Only Those Who Truly Matter Get Attacked This Way — The Shared Reality of a U.S. President and Chinese Prisoners of Conscience

【Tianwang – U.S. West Coast Time, August 5, 2026】 (Edited by Tianwang volunteers)

U.S. President Donald Trump recently shared multiple interview clips on Truth Social, emphasizing that “only truly consequential leaders get attacked this fiercely.” This statement has strongly resonated with many who have experienced systematic persecution by the Chinese Communist Party. The prolonged disappearance of Huang Qi, founder of 64 Tianwang (also known as China Tianwang Human Rights Center), since his imprisonment, and the personal experience of Tianwang editor Wang Jing, are stark examples of this same logic applied in China.

In an interview with Fox News yesterday, Trump said:
“They say only consequential presidents get treated this way. And I am definitely consequential.”

He pointed out that it is precisely because he takes strong action and refuses to be a do-nothing leader that he continues to face intense and sustained opposition.
This observation closely mirrors the Chinese Communist Party’s approach toward its critics.

The CCP does not waste its main efforts on insignificant people. It systematically suppresses, frames, isolates, and cuts off contact with those who dare to record the truth and challenge power. Huang Qi is one of the most typical examples. Since his latest imprisonment, the outside world has long been unable to confirm his exact condition, and communication between his family and the outside has been severed. This itself is a form of ongoing punishment and silencing.
Tianwang editor Wang Jing has experienced the same pattern. She was sentenced to nearly five years in prison for reporting on human rights issues, endured torture and prolonged oppression, and after her release has continued to document and speak out while still facing various pressures and risks. The essence of these experiences is the same logic Trump described: power fears not the silent, but those who refuse to stay silent and who truly make an impact.
Trump articulated this point in his own way. Huang Qi and countless other Chinese prisoners of conscience are proving it with their freedom and their health.
In the view of Tianwang editor Wang Jing, President Trump is currently the leader of the forces of justice worldwide. Those who have experienced systematic persecution by the Chinese Communist Party understand more deeply what it means to truly confront evil. We are willing to follow President Trump in the fight against evil forces.
64 Tianwang will continue to speak out for the disappeared Huang Qi and to document the experiences of all those subjected to systematic repression. At the same time, we call on the international community to maintain attention on Huang Qi’s situation, demand that the Chinese authorities disclose accurate information about him, allow family visits, and immediately release all prisoners of conscience detained for their words.
