The crash was Wednesday morning, September 9 Eastern Time, in Midtown Manhattan, when a Tesla hit scaffolding. Police said the passenger died and the driver was hospitalized. Community Notes added: the 27-year-old was driving manually, fled the scene, and was later arrested for DWI, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, and manslaughter. The ABC post on X is gone.
