At about 2:14 p.m. Pacific Time on September 20, creator Nick Shirley posted that he wants to work at X. He wrote that it is becoming nearly too dangerous for him to film in public. He said he understands the platform from a creator’s side and believes in its mission. “Let’s make it happen.”

At about 4:57 p.m. Pacific Time the same day, commentator Eric Daugherty amplified the post. He called it a public application to work at Elon Musk’s X, and said someone exposing fraud — and saving Americans money — should not have to fear the street.

Musk should hire Shirley, give him a desk, and start an X nightly news show. “We’re already getting our news here anyway.”

This is not a hiring notice. X has not announced a job or a nightly show. “Fraud czar” in the replies is a slogan, not an office.

Shirley is known for videos on welfare fraud, shelters, and street disorder. After the camera is public, the risk is being recognized, blocked, or followed. His post put the cost in one sentence: the work that shows the leak makes the filmer a target.

Shirley’s ask is simple: put the work on the platform that still lets the tape run. Eagleman’s line is the same fact from the other side: the public already moved. The old shops are late.
