Jordan: This Was a Political Operation to Protect Biden

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan on the 14th strongly criticized the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for its secret operation known as “Round River” during the 2020 election. He said it was not a genuine national security investigation, but rather a “political operation to protect Joe Biden and obstruct congressional investigations.”

According to a Just the News report on the 14th, Jordan said in an interview that newly declassified documents show the FBI had at least 14 confidential informants providing derogatory information about the Biden family (especially Hunter Biden and a Ukrainian energy company), yet dismissed this evidence as “Russian disinformation” and suppressed it.
乔丹透露，2020年FBI曾专门向他进行“防御性简报”，声称他正在调查的拜登家族腐败问题是俄罗斯散布的假消息。他当时就认为这是“胡说八道（BS）”。
Jordan revealed that in 2020 the FBI gave him a “defensive briefing”, claiming that the Biden family corruption issues he was investigating were Russian-fabricated falsehoods. He said he thought it was “BS” at the time.
解密文件还显示，FBI和情报机构制作了一份名单，将包括乔丹本人、时任司法部长比尔·巴尔、国务卿迈克·蓬佩奥、参议员查克·格拉斯利、罗恩·约翰逊等多名共和党议员和官员，标记为“俄罗斯虚假信息的传播渠道（conduits）”。而拜登家族、希拉里、奥巴马等则被列为“受害者”。
Declassified documents also show that the FBI and intelligence agencies compiled a list labeling Jordan himself, then-Attorney General Bill Barr, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Senators Chuck Grassley, Ron Johnson, and other Republican lawmakers and officials as “conduits of Russian disinformation.” Meanwhile, the Biden family, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and others were listed as “victims.”

Jordan noted that this was consistent with the earlier open letter signed by 51 former intelligence officials claiming that Hunter Biden’s laptop was “Russian disinformation.” He stressed: “This was not an investigation. This was an operation — an operation to protect Joe Biden as he was running for president.”
现任FBI局长卡什·帕特尔（Kash Patel）已确认，相关“外国影响特别工作组”已在他任内被解散，其活动正在接受调查。帕特尔在致白宫透明度工作组的信中表示，担心该行动被用于推进政治叙事，而非应对真正的外国威胁。
Current FBI Director Kash Patel has confirmed that the related “Foreign Influence Task Force” was terminated under his leadership and its activities are under investigation. In a letter to the White House Government Transparency Task Force, Patel expressed concern that the operation was used to advance political narratives rather than address genuine foreign threats.
乔丹表示，他相信现任司法部长托德·布兰奇（Todd Blanche）会彻查此事并追究责任。
Jordan said he believes current Attorney General Todd Blanche will thoroughly investigate the matter and hold those responsible accountable.
天网评论：
不难看出，所谓“Round River行动”，不过是美国深层政府又一次用国家安全的名义，掩盖权贵腐败、打压政敌的政治操弄。当FBI手里握着14名线人的证词，却宁愿选择把真相贴上“俄罗斯虚假信息”的标签；当国会调查者反而被标成“传播渠道”，而真正的腐败家族被保护成“受害者”——这已经不是司法失误，而是赤裸裸的双重标准。
这种“保护自己人、打击对手”的逻辑，与中共国安、公检法系统一贯的操作高度相似：先定调、再取证，为政治目的服务。不同的是，美国至少还有乔丹这样的议员敢公开撕破这层伪装，也有解密文件逐步曝光。
如果一个号称自由民主的国家，连总统家族的腐败都能被情报机构系统性掩护，那么它对真正的人权、真相和异议者又能有多少真正的尊重？美国若不彻底清算这种政治化的情报与司法机器，所谓的“自由灯塔”终将沦为选择性正义的笑话。

It is not hard to see that the so-called “Round River operation” was yet another political maneuver by the American deep state, using the pretext of national security to cover up elite corruption and suppress political opponents. When the FBI held testimony from 14 informants but chose to label the truth as “Russian disinformation”; when congressional investigators were branded as “conduits” while the actual corrupt family was protected as “victims” — this is no longer a judicial error, but blatant double standards.
This logic of “protecting one’s own while attacking opponents” closely resembles the long-standing practices of the Chinese Communist Party’s national security and judicial systems: first set the conclusion, then gather evidence to serve political ends. The difference is that in the United States, at least there are still lawmakers like Jordan willing to publicly tear off the mask, and declassified documents are gradually coming to light.
If a country that claims to champion freedom and democracy can systematically shield a presidential family’s corruption through its intelligence agencies, how much genuine respect can it have for real human rights, truth, and dissidents? If America fails to thoroughly cleanse this politicized intelligence and judicial apparatus, its so-called “beacon of freedom” will ultimately become a joke of selective justice.
