OFAC General License 135 allows the sale and import of Russian-origin diesel, including into the United States, until 12:01 a.m. Eastern on April 7, 2027. This is diesel, not crude. Zelensky called the deal a gift to Putin. The president answered with the sentence about a new leader.

Ukraine’s foreign minister, Andriy Sybiga, answered on X that Zelensky has the support of the Ukrainian people, and they have the right to decide. Statements from abroad, he wrote, only confirm that he is doing his job. Daugherty said Democrats are furious. No named Democrat had claimed that sentence by evening. The two statements on the table are the president’s and Sybiga’s.

He said Ukraine should choose a leader who will sign. After the Oval Office, that choice was already the right one. Today he said it out loud.
