On the morning of September 20, Pacific Time, the writer sat in a Bible study in the Seattle area. The lesson was titled a brief survey of the non-Isaiah prophets on the Messiah. The speaker laid out lines from Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Jonah, Micah, Haggai, Zephaniah, and Zechariah. He showed how Jesus took three Old Testament figures — Messiah, Suffering Servant, Son of Man — and put them on Himself. The sheets were clear. The verses were there. The hour stopped on an ancient roll call. Almost nothing was said about how a person is to live today.
美西时间9月20日上午，笔者在西雅图地区一处查经聚会听到一堂课，题为《非以赛亚先知对弥赛亚的简要综览》。讲员把耶利米、以西结、但以理、何西阿、约拿、弥迦、哈该、西番雅、撒迦利亚的句子一一列出，说明耶稣如何把“弥赛亚、受苦仆人、人子”三个旧约形象合在自己身上。材料清楚，经文也在。整堂课停在古代名单上，几乎没有碰到人今天怎么活。

The writer left with one thought: God gives life so that a person can live well in the hour he is in — not so that he can take up residence in the past. The past is a lesson. It is not a house. A person should stand in today, look forward, and wait for the kingdom: justice not put off, pardon not left only on a scroll, the cut-off not left without a name.
笔者离开时只有一个感觉：上帝给人生命，是要人更好地活在当下，而不是天天住在过去。过去是经验，是教训，不是住所。人应当站在今天，展望未来，迎接上帝的国降临——公义不再被推迟，赦免不再只写在羊皮卷上，被剪除的人不再无人记念。
The world did not stay in the ancient list. On the morning of September 20, Eastern Time, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer met Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng at JPMorgan headquarters in New York. The meeting is to prepare for President Trump receiving Xi Jinping at the White House on September 24. This week the president also goes to New York for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. These things are still open. They have not been written to the last line.
世界并没有停在古代。美东时间9月20日上午，财政部长贝森特与贸易代表格里尔在纽约摩根大通总部会见中国副总理何立峰，为美西时间9月24日川普总统在白宫会见习近平做准备。本周川普总统还将赴纽约出席第81届联合国大会。

The State Department confirmed Secretary Marco Rubio is in New York from September 20 through September 23, covering the U.N. week before the White House meeting. Treasury is at the table today. The Secretary of State is on the ground the same week. The calendar is not a list of finished names. It is still being written.
国务院确认国务卿鲁比奥已于9月20日至23日驻纽约，覆盖联大周期，再接到白宫会见。今天坐在桌边的是财政部。同一周到场的还有国务卿。日历不是已经写完的名单。事还在写。这些都是正在发生、还没有写完的事。

A dictatorship loves to keep people in yesterday: old accounts, old sins, old papers, no tomorrow. A free country can make the same mistake if it only recites a list that is already finished. The power in the prophets is not one more fulfillment chart. It is a man still speaking in the rubble: days are coming, I will make a new covenant; I will seek my sheep; I will open a fountain for sin. That speech faces forward.
极权最爱让人活在过去：反复核对旧账、旧罪、旧身份，叫人没有明天。自由世界若也只会背诵已经完成的清单，同样会失去今天。先知书真正有力量的地方，不是又多了一条“应验对照表”，而是里面有人在废墟里仍说：日子将到，我要立新约；我必寻找我的羊；我必开一个洗罪的泉源。那是面向前面的话。
64tianwang writes down the present because people are still waiting in prisons, at borders, in hospital halls, and at immigration windows. The record is not meant to press anyone back into yesterday. It is meant to keep tomorrow from being stolen. If the kingdom comes, it lands first in the hour when the living still breathe.
六四天网记录当下，是因为当下还有人在监狱、边境、医院和移民局窗口等待。记录不是为了把人按回昨天，而是为了不让明天被偷走。上帝的国若降临，必先落在活人还在呼吸的这一刻。
